Gallery ArtBeat Presents Artist Nika Kutateladze at NADA Miami 2020
08 December, 2020

The New Art Dealers Alliance's annual art market, which is an important part of the Miami Art Week, is hosting its 18th event this year from December 1-5.

NADA Miami 2020 offers visitors a diverse program featuring 97 galleries from around the world. The works will be presented both in the gallery space and online and any visitor will be able to see it on a specially created digital platform.

Gallery ArtBeat, one of the pioneers of Georgian contemporary art, is among the 100 galleries participating in NADA Miami 2020, which will be presented by artist Nika Kutateladze. Nika is a young artist whose work is characterized by the contexts and observations of the modern world. Tariel is Getting Ready for Hibernation - this is the name of the work that will be presented at Nada Miami 2020 and whose main focus is on the villages on the brink of depopulation in the Guria Mountains.

Nika's works often feature architectural objects found in unconventional, varied forms and spaces, which make each item more impressive and interesting. In this case, too, the project Tariel is Getting Ready for Hibernation is the result of a land research in one of the villages of Guria, which focuses on various objects of the architectural landscape. The dysfunctional house analyzes the urgency of the problem in a new context, while the author’s aspiration to create new spatial constructions in the ArtBeat Gallery allows the viewer to rethink space loaded with foreign visual niches.

The research, which was conducted in Guria, reflected the architectural landscape of the village, its history, daily rituals and living environment. The abandoned house, which has become the object of interest of the author, indicates the unpredictable nature of time and the feeling of security with various visual signs. The process of depopulation, which ultimately creates a fatal picture of abandoned villages, becomes the main theme of the artist's new project, in which one can read the existing creative attitudes regarding his architectural transformations.

Nika Kutateladze's recent works are related to the transformation process of architectural spaces and the urban environment and its challenges, of which he became part of a new project - Tariel is Getting Ready for Hibernation.
