Demand for Georgian wines grows on exports markets. According to Agriculture Ministry statistics, in January-October 2016 Georgia exported 38 392 510 bottles to 50 countries (0.75 liter), up 37% compared to the same period of 2015.
Wine exports made up 88.3 million USD, up 14% year on year. Exports increased to EU, China and other traditional markets:
China – 138% (4 307 825 bottles), Ukraine – 64% (4 212 110), Belarus – 57% (931 602), Great Britain – 47% (74 188), Poland – 44% (1 819 542), Russia – 40% (20 531 892), Estonia – 33% (516 048), Kyrgyzstan – 17% (202 666), Japan – 12% (141 774), the USA – 12% (234 616), Germany – 11% (234 422), Canada – 7% (157 860), Latvia 6% (978 762) and other.
Top five exporter countries are as follows: Russia (20 531 892), China (4 307 825), Ukraine (4 212 110) , Kazakhstan(3 019 147) and Poland (1 819 542).
