Georgia and Israel to Increase Trade Turnover up to 1 billion USD

Minister of Economy of Georgia Dimitri Kumsishvili has met with Minister of Economy and Industry of Israel Eli Cohen as part of this visit to Israel.

At the meeting the parties discussed key directions for deepening bilateral trade-economic relations. The parties agreed to increase Georgia-Israel trade turnover.

“We have very important meeting with the Minster of Economy and Industry of Israel. We agreed to develop our relations in many directions, including for growth in turnover. We greed to increase turnover up to 1 billion USD in 5 years”, Dimitri Kumsishvili said.

The Georgian Economy Minister invited Eli Cohen to Georgia. The Israeli Minster of Economy is expected to visit Georgia on May 10 to attend an inauguration of Georgia-Israel joint company.

“I will be happy to see my colleague in Georgia on May 10 to attend the inauguration of a joint enterprise. We will also hold a business forum to enhance cooperation between our business sectors and maximally satisfy business interests of private sectors in Georgia and Israel”, Dimitri Kumsishvili said. ‘

The parties also discussed importance of innovative ecosystem development and Israeli experience in this field.
