Georgian National Museum Presents Exhibition – Ask for it Anywhere
02 April, 2018

Georgian National Museum presents the exhibition “Ask for it anywhere” at Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery.

“Laghidze Waters” is the symbol of Tbilisi and an example of Georgian intangible cultural heritage.

The author of these unique soft drinks is the renowned scientist, public figure, and philanthropist Mitropane Laghidze. In 1906, following advice from Akaki Tsereteli and assistance from Ilia Chavchavadze, Mitropane Laghidze established a nonalcoholic beverage factory in Tbilisi. In the same year, he opened a nonalcoholic drink shop, which, ever since it’s opening, became a cult hotspot in the city. Tasting “Laghidze Waters” and gathering at this location became a kind of a ritual for the residents of Tbilisi, as well as its guests.

The exhibition will showcase artworks by more than 50 artists of different generations, thematically connected to “Laghidze Waters”. The name of the exhibition, “Ask for it anywhere” appeared on the soft drinks’ first advertisement banner and subsequently gained popularity.

The exhibition is curated by Maka Tavamaishvili.

Opening: March 30, 18:00

Duration: March 30 – April 18

Address: Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery, 11 Shota Rustaveli Ave. Tbilisi, Georgia
