Blues is American sub culture, which was born in USA in Mississippi delta.
Blues is the beginning of all other musical directions.
Blues in Georgia has long history. The first generation of Georgian Bluesmen are in ages now.
During their musical career they could not get even honestly applause, to say nothing of other kind of recognition.
The aim of the International Blues Festival in Georgia is popularization of blues as high taste musical culture also to back up merit bluesmen , support and help young and talented musician to improve their skills.
To meet the goal , we decided to held the blues festival in mixed program, jam sessions, opening stars and full – fledged participation of all age bluesmen.
The first year experience showed that the project is developing in right direction.
In the frame of the festival Georgian Blues Lounge united veteran bluesmen under Master`s rank and gave
them a certain financial encouragement
During the festival young bluesmen were discovered ,
who performed in the festival together with blues world stars and veteran bluesmen.
It was a great experience for them and stimulates the beginning of the career.
The First International Festival was multi national, it was open by Chicago school headliner Sharon Lewis, Shanna Waterstone from France, Sobo band form Israel, Steve Morrison , Matt Taylor and Baron Goodlove from the UK ,Wolf Mail from Canada and The King of Moscow Blues Gia Dzagnidze and Modern Blues Band from Moscow took part in the festival. All active Georgian Blues Bands participated in the festival. Such kind of program would be dreamt on by any traditional European festivals.Our second year festival program is more representative and international.
Such kind of undertakings are concentrated in Tbilsi , Batumi and in the West Georgia.
Blues festival in Kakheti is an ambitious project and the first precedent .
It will increase awareness of Kakheti and Lagodekhi on tourist map,
will attract more tourists to the region,
will increase financial turn over and will raise the level of well-being in Lagodekhi.
