Georgian Wines won 5 Medals at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2018
29 May, 2018

The 25th Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) was held from May 10 to 14, 2018 in Haidian(Beijing), China.

Georgian wines have won 5 medals: 2 Gold and 3 Silver. The Georgian winners are:

Gold:

  • Winery Khareba Rkatsiteli White 2017
  • GWS Tamada Grand Reserve Dry White 2014

Silver:

  • Kakhuri Gvinis Marani Rkatsiteli White 2017
  • Teliani Valley Saperavi Rosé 2016
  • Teliani Valley Tsinandali Oak White 2016

This is the first time a wine competition of this magnitude and significance is being held in Asia. The dynamic development of the Chinese market has led the organizers of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles to leave Europe and take the competition to Beijing. “China is definitely the place where the wine sector is developing the most in terms of production and consumption. China has become the biggest market for some of the leading wine producing countries in the world”, comments CMB’s chairman Baudouin Havaux.

CMB is the only “touring” competition in the world, with 25 years’ experience, and is the only wine contest to perform quality control tests on awarded wines.

Over 9,180 wines from 48 producer countries competed for a distinction. Some 330 judges from 50+ countries blind-tasted and scored the wines. The next CMB will be held from 2-5 May 2019 in the Swiss town of Aigle in the canton of Vaud.
