Georgia’s Major Wine Exports Markets

In January-September Georgian winemaking companies exported 61mln bottles of wines to 50 countries, up 59% year on year. Total value of the exports amounted to 134.6mln USD, up 52% as compared to the same period of 2016.

According to National Wine Agency, exports have risen in the following countries: China – 41% (6 086 733), Russia – 87% (38 355 125), Ukraine – 48% (6 237 652), Poland – 18% (2 151 342), Latvia – 31% (1 279 718), Belarus – 42% (1 318 852), the USA – 68% (394 464), Germany – 57% (367 342), Israel – 149% (180 824), France – 187% (98 194), Azerbaijan – 76% (102 342) and so on.

  • Ukraine- 6237652
  • China – 6086733
  • Kazakhstan – 2671845 
  • Poland – 2151342

At the same time, the country has exported 13630421 bottles of brandy to 22 countries, up 91% year on year. Brandy exports value marked 29.6mln USD, up 83% year on year. 

In the reporting period, 219 183 bottles of spirits were exported to 20 countries, up 198% year on year. Revenues from the spirits exports totaled 664.6 thousand USD. The annual growth marked 154%. 

Total revenues from exports of wine, brandy, Spirits, wine materials and brandy spirits made up 222.4mln USD in the reporting period. The year on year growth marked 50%.
