According to National Wine Agency, in January-May 2017 Georgia exported 24.75 million bottles of wine to 41 countries, up 64% year on year.
In the reporting period, the country exported 55.52 million USD wines, up 58% as compared to the same period of 2016. The current year is very positive in terms of wine exports, Giorgi Samanishvili, National Wine Agency head, noted.
“Georgian Wine exports are growing almost in all directions, including on traditional and new markets. For example, exports tripled to China. Our objective is not to replace one market by another. Our objective is to ensure balance in exports. Our exports have increased on EU markets too.
Perception of Georgian wines grows. We follow this strategy for many years and currently we are reaping results of our efforts”, Samanishvili said.
