Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has unveiled Nelkarisi Winery in Kvareli, Kakheti Region, which unites winery, wine store, wine cellar and restaurant.

“This is one of the best samples of cooperation between government and private sector”, Kvirikashvili noted and talked about perspectives of Georgian wine sector and wine business.

“We have invested more than 4 million USD in this project, of which 600 00 USD is a preferential agro credit. We have employed 75 persons. This is very important. This place is of much historical importance. I believe this archaeological project will open a new interesting page in history of Georgia. I believe this place will raise special interest of tourists and it will become one of the key tourism destinations”, Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.

Megobrebis Marani (Friends’ Wine Cellar) was built in 2014 as part of joint agro project. The company produces 150 000 bottles of wines a year. The product is sold both on domestic and international markets.
