Professors of Milan University Study about the Potential of Georgian Viticulture and Winemaking
Professors of the University of Milan, visited the Scientific-Research Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia to study the research and planting materials of multi-year clusters. They get acquainted of Georgian viticulture and winemaking potential. They viewed a collective vineyard on their base and tasted wine from rare vine varieties.
The visit was held in the framework of a joint Bachelor’s Degree Program between Georgia and Italy. Within the framework of the program the professors held a meeting with the Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Biosystems of the Technical University of Georgia, Heads of Departments and Vicinity-Oenology Bachelor’s Programs, discussed future programs and future cooperation. Professors of the University of Milan conducted a lecture for students.
The project is intended for free bachelor’s degree in viticulture at Georgian Technical University.Undergraduate program students will be able to pass one semester at the University of Milan in case of additional qualification requirements and get diploma after graduation.
Within the visit, Antonio Tariel and Piero Athilio Bianco visited all the bases and labs that are involved in the implementation of the Bachelor Program. The guests also visited wine and cognac factories and wineries.
