Qvevri Became a Part of the Permanent Exposition in Bordeaux City

The Qvevri is part of the permanent exposition of the World Civilization Center of Wine – At the largest entrance to the Cité des Civilisations Du Vin in the Bordeaux, a large Qvevri was placed as intangible cultural heritage monument, recognized by UNESCO.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili attended the ceremony, that opened an exhibition ”Georgia – cradle of wine” at World Civilization Center.

Georgia is the first invited country, which opened a cycle of viticulture and winemaking exhibitions and is an honorable host of the Wine Civilization Museum.

It has been scientifically confirmed that the wine producing in Qvevri first started 8 thousand years ago in Georgia. According to leading specialists three-year study has confirmed that Georgia is a homeland of wine.
