Sheikh Nahayan plans to enter the management of Georgian Airports, according to the Business Course. The Member of the cabinet of Ministers of United Arab Emirates says that UAE will double investments in Georgia in the coming years. Negotiations are underway with Government of Georgia too.
“We are conducting negotiations with Government of Georgia on airport issues. This will not be a new airport. We will put investment in the existing airport. We are also interested in agriculture sector, construction of hotels and seaports. We talk with the Government about various sectors, including the management of airports. We see that the inflow of tourists to the country grows. Two years ago 5mln tourists visited Georgia, today the figure has risen to 7 millions. Therefore, we have much potential in this field. Georgia is able to become a regional hub.
The Government may have different positions, but we have acquainted them with our plans for managing the existing airport”, the Sheikh said.
