Georgia Lists Ancient Temple Ateshgah in Tbilisi as Site of National Significance
Zoroastrian fire temple – Ateshgah located in the center of Tbilisi has been awarded the status of cultural heritage monument of national importance, APA reports citing the Georgian media.
The temple that is one of the oldest religious buildings in the Georgian capital is located in the historic part of the city.
The temple was included in the category of the cultural heritage monuments of national importance in 1986, but in 2007 it was listed only as cultural heritage monument. The temple was reconstructed in 2009.
