06 March, 2017

An alpine-themed hotel built from shipping containers will be opened in Georgia’s winter wonderland Gudauri – 2,200 meters above sea level.

Consisting of shipping containers, the hotel Quadrum is shaped like a pyramid and includes 12 rooms.

Quadrum will be the first boutique hotel in Gudauri that will open its doors to guests on March 11, 2017. Prices start from $90.

The unique creation belongs to architects Sandro Ramishvili and Irakli Eristavi.

The object is small but architecturally very interesting. This is a small hotel in Gudauri, which we created with containers of the 3X7 size. As a result we have got a very interesting structure for that difficult landscape”, said Ramishili.

Minimalistic in concept, the hotel cascades down the natural landscape offering generous terrace space with stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains. The comfort and serenity of Quadrum makes it a place to be enjoyed in all seasons”, says the webpage of the hotel.

The main aim of the project was to safeguard the environment from the harmful effects of work and leisure. That is why the materials used to build the hotel were environmentally friendly and of local production.
