Tbilisi has been included into the best travel destinations of the world's most famous travel website Tripadvisor. According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Tripadvisor has summed up 2016 and named the most demanded touristic destinations as well as hotels, museums and restaurants. As a result, Georgia found itself among the destinations that are becoming more and more popular each year, paving its way to the top 10 (9th place). 

Mexico is on the top of the list, followed by Colombia, Brazil, Hawaii, Azerbaijan, Philippines, Israel and Spain. India is on the 10th spot. 

Tripadvisor publishes the statistics annually.

“It should be noted that the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has carried out a large advertising campaign on Tripadvisor. The included ten markets: Azerbaijan, Germany, Israel, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Russia. The advertisement banners were seen by millions of people in the abovementioned countries for 

6 months,” the National Administration for Tourism says. 

The head of the Administration Giorgi Chogovadze says the campaign contributed to the popularity of Georgia and attracted more tourists. 

Tripadvisor has 340 million visitors each year and they leave close to 350 million comments. There are more than 6.5 million food and leisure sites presented on the website.
