Snowboarders, skiers and winter enthusiasts across Georgia are celebrating after the country’s winter resorts announced the earliest winter season start in the last 20 years.
The winter season will open on December 5 at Goderdzi – the newest of Georgia’s four winter resorts on the slopes of the mountainous Ajara region.
This will be followed by the opening of Bakuriani and Gudauri ski fields in the country’s east on December 13. Officials said these dates would mark the earliest beginning of a ski season in the past two decades in Georgia.
