BTL - BUSINESS TRAVEL LEISURE - WELCOME TO GEORGIA NATIONAL TOURISM AWARDS 2016

BTL company  founded in 2007 in Ukraine. Representative office in Georgia opened in 2011 year under the guideance of Maya Bibilauri. BTL has developed into a global group of companies over the years. In 2016 represented himself in  the 6 countries - BTL Ukraine, BTL Dnepropetrovsk, BTL Georgia, BTL Azerbaijan, BTL Italy, BTL USA. The company has three main business areas: inbound MICE tourism, business tourism (Business Travel) and internal (in Georgia) trip.

BTL serving more than 40 regular corporate customers of the Georgian market. Main customers of inbound tourism are travel  and MICE companies from the different countries  around the world.

In inbound and MICE tourism BTL Georgia has stable partnership with companies in several  countries. According to the projects, the company has a major segment of the following countries: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland. During the year BTL Georgia organizes about 50 successful events for different size of groups.

What are the plans to access for the next 5-10 years, are you planning to expand your business?

BTL Georgia develops business since entering the market , expands its network operation and takes an active part in the development of the tourism industry. BTL implements support for such projects, such as the Use-It Tbilisi, Georgia's Russian-language edition of the guide. Introduces new technologies, such as mobile application for events and V Rex. In 2015, the company added  the transportation  service and department, also laid the foundation for the new direction of the events. The company plans to expand the scale and range of services for the next decade within the tourism industry.

Diversity of  sphere allows to develop BTL activities in a different sectors. The company's management constantly monitors the new tourism trends and develops business directions on future potential. The next stage of development is to form company like official  Professional Conference Organizer. BTL- managers qualification and assets accumulated over the years in our diverse portfolio of projects will allow us to strengthen our competitiveness in the business tourism market in this step. For two years the group of companies organized and participated actively in the promotion of (meeting MICE proffessionals) forums. With this project BTL Georgia acquainted with world several   MICE markets and made great contribution in Georgian MICE  tourism development  process by linking to each other service providers with interested parties.

The company plans to expand its activities related to social responsibility in the country and contribute to the development of the industry.

MICE activities of the company is constantly evolving. BTL  always had a particular mission - to carry out projects with all the service standards and to present the country's tourism potential. Since the beginning, company provided high-quality MICE service to partners, by their requirements. Our next goal is to develop a line of events, creative and original concepts for events on the territory of Georgia, by using completely potential of country.

Do you have any recognition in the international and local market, certificates, achievements, etc?

The company has received several times best awards in category of business and MICE tourism, including In 2012, following the success of the IMEX exhibition , EPI- project recognized us  like the most  DMC company in the local market. In 2013, the Tour Guide Association awarded BTL for supporting  the guides  profession, professional tour guides active employment and best compensation; in 2015, the insurance company GPI Holding awarded BTL for “ Best stable partner”; in 2015, in the first national tourist award BTL took the best business tourism company title.

Briefly tell us what obstacles are encountered in the tourism sector and familiarize us with your vision of solving problems?

Beyond the international and network hotels and tourist facilities in the country still remains  the low standards of service problems. It is necessary to deliberate and strategic work in the service sector in order to increase the motivation of the people involved. In the country constantly planned entertainment and cultural events, which attracts a large flow of tourists. However, for MICE companies, planning a project around particular event still remain problem due to the uncertain sales process. It is important to establish a solid business relationship between the event company organizers and tourist services. Georgia, as the direction motivates great interest in the world's tourism market, but there is no clear and distinctive brand positioning, which will accurate impression about the country to the visitors.

So in some case the expectations and real image can miss each other and in other hand we will not be able to show complete picture for travelers or travel agents. No less important than attract tourist, is to use the full potential of the country, the transformation into the information and dissemination.

What do you think about national award – Welcome To Georgia?

Since its first year of National tourism awards Welcome To Georgia has received a great response in the tourism and hospitality industry's companies as well as widespread in media and recognition. Such precedents are encourages businesses and organizations, to constantly improve the service, marketing campaign, the company's image; with social responsibility take activities in still  developing tourism sector in the country.

How would you summarize the 2016 tourist seasons?

The tourist industry is constantly growing sphere in Georgia.  Every year country meets with more and more companies and institutions. Rise hotels, transportation planner and travel companies. There are new trends in the world, which will also reflect on Georgia  and  business is constantly evolving. 2016 was no exception. In the big cities there are more places for tourist accommodation. It has developed the entertainment industry and emerged an opportunity in a variety of proposals. The country, as a tourist destination in the world market,  is being actively marketing. The companies  personally participate in sales process, accordingly  receive direct contacts and active projects. 2016 for company was marked by the intense requirements and of approved projects diversity.
