According to LEPL National Wine Agency, in January-August 2018, 52,7million bottles (0,75l) of wine have been exported to 52 countries worldwide, that is 16% higher than the similar data of 2017. Exported wine income amounted to 125,5 million USD, that is 25% higher than the data of the previous year.
Georgian wine exports have been increased in Georgian wine strategic markets:
Japan 79% (170700),
Poland 31% (2121474),
UK – 17% (52732),
USA – 2% (291640),
also on European markets: Romania – 390% (84 654), Czech – 65% (30456), Germany -32% (339 370), Lietuva – 12% (280 338), Netherlands – 25% (42735), Latvia – 12% (1077696), Estonia –2% (336302) and traditional markets: Kyrgyzstan -81% (140370), Kazakhstan – 36% (2313378), Ukraine – 40% (6070218), Russia – 17% (33270854), Belorussia 12% (1012062) and etc.
The first five of the exporter countries are the following: Russia (33270854), Ukraine ((6070218), China (4113328), Kazakhstan (2313378) and Poland (2121474).
In addition, in January-August, 11,7mil. bottles (0,5 liters) of brandy have been exported to 21 countries worldwide, that is 19% higher than the similar data of the last year. Exported brandy amounted to 23,9 mil. USD, growth amounted to 9%.
In the period under review, 238,9 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of “Chacha” have been exported to 24 countries worldwide, growth amounted to 80%. Totally, 692,4 thousand USD worth of Chacha has been exported, which is 88% higher than the similar data of the last year.
Totally, wine, bandy, “Chacha”, brandy alcohol and brandy in pour income amounted to 198,2 mil. USD – growth in comparison with the similar data of the previous year amounted to 19%.
