Georgian Railway plans to construct a railway station in Anaklia. Dachi Tsaguria, head of the company PR department, told Business Contract that active job is being performed for the railway network development.

“We have launched railroad construction project to the direction of Anaklia. We want to arrange railway station in Anaklia”, Dachi Tsaguria noted, but refrained from unveiling the project details.

Government of Georgia has assumed obligation to extend the railway and highway infrastructure to Anaklia Seaport. About 50 million GEL will be spent on infrastructural projects.

Anaklia Development Consortium has already prepared a 50-year general plan  for Anaklia seaport development and plans to launch the seaport construction works in the second half of 2017. Government has already started resettlement of residents of the due territory and allocated 96 million GEL to this end.
