Acquisition of lands for construction of 14.3 km Batumi bypass road is finished.
Giorgi Kakauridze, deputy finance minister declared about acquisition and loan agreement with donors at the parliament. The Asian Development Bank has allocated a loan of $ 114 million with maturity of 24 years (108.2 million) and grace period – 13 year (0.42% annual rate variable).
Another $ 114 million is allocated by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The annual rate of this loan (variable) is 2.8%, grace period – 14 years. The road construction work will start this year and finishes by 2020.
Turkish companies POLAT YOL & MAPA will build 13 km section of Batumi bypass road. To note, 2 lanes of asphalt road, 19 bridges, 4 transport junctions, 5 tunnels and 57 culverts will be constructed within the framework of the project. The new route will pass: Makhinjauri, Gantiadi, Capreshumi, Salibauri, Peria, Makhvilauri and Khelvachauri.
