Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans to increase investments volume in Georgia and participate in developing such directions as transit and tourism potential.
ADB will finance a construction of 24-kilometer road of Kvesheti-Kobi, which is a part of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda motorway. The project calls for building a 9-kilometer tunnel.
It should be noted that Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Irakli Karseladze, Head of Road Department, and representatives of ADB mission visited the construction site. The designing works are financed by World Bank (WB). Driving time on Tbilisi-Larsi road will decline by 1 hour.
Meeting was also held at Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Parties discussed finished, ongoing and planned projects as part of urban services development investment program. The parties also discussed large-scale water supply and sewage projects financed by ADB.
Over the past 10 years ADB has invested more than 2 billion USD in Georgia.
The meeting was attended by Infrastructure Minister Maia Tskitishvili, Verner Lipakh, director general for ADB central and western Asia Department, Ieshin Elhan Kaialari, director for ADB representation.
