Bulgaria closes borders to Georgia starting July 26 as Covid-19 cases surge in Georgia
Georgian citizens will be prohibited from entering Bulgaria starting July 26 as Covid-19 cases have surged in Georgia in recent weeks.
The ban does not apply to Bulgarian citizens, residents of Bulgaria and their family members coming from Georgia to Bulgaria. In order to enter the country, they must present a negative PCR test from the past 72 hours at the border regardless of a full course of vaccination”, the Embassy of Georgia to Bulgaria noted in an announcement.
Georgian citizens are allowed to transit through the territory of Bulgaria if they can prove that they are entering the country only for the purpose of transit.
Georgia has reported 1,264 new cases of coronavirus, 1,665 recoveries and 11 deaths in the past 24 hours.
