Starting September 1 Buta Airways low-cost airline will replace AZAL airline (Azerbaijani Airlines) to perform Baku-Tbilisi flights. It should be noted Buta Airways has been founded under the structure of AZAL.
Initially, Buta Airways will replace AZAL on 4 frequencies, while starting October 29 Buta Airways will perform all flights on the mentioned direction.
According to the schedule submitted to Civil Aviation Agency of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, in winter navigation period (October 29 – March 29) flights between Georgia and Azerbaijan will be carried out with increased frequencies.
Instead of current 10 frequencies, flights will be performed 14 times a week (twice a day) by Embraer E190/E170 airplanes.
Civil Aviation Agency has issued a flight license to the airline on August 9.
Buta Airways has been founded under AZAL structure as a low-cost airline. The airline will start passenger transportation on September 1.
