Construction of the second section of the Kobuleti bypass road will be finished in the near future. The new road will be unveiled before the tourism season opens in summer 2018. The road will decrease the driving time from Tbilisi to Batumi by 20-30 minutes.
A 18-km section was built in the second lot of Kobuleti bypass road. The project had been ordered by the Road Department.
This section comprises 15 bridges. Georgia’s longest bridge, of 1,180 meters, was built near the village of Sachino. About 400 persons were employed for its construction.
“Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Adjara Government Chairman Zurab Pataradze have jointly visited the Kobuleti bypass road.
Construction of the first section of Kobuleti bypass road has been finished. The second section will also open in summer, and will fully liberate the Kobuleti seaside from transit traffic.
