“Gallery 9” is pleased to present the exhibition of Ana Iakobashvili – “REBIRTH”.

 

The exhibition starts on October 17th, at 17:00 and will last until October 24th.

 

“Gallery 9 differs from traditional exhibition practices with its own conception and perspective aiming to create a sense of privateness in which the artist’s inner world and perception are presented.

 

Ana Iakobashvili’s pictorial world and her compositions stand out by a particular combination of opposed perceptions. The background mainly remains diffident, whilst the foreground is characterized by complex subjects that show an almost scenic expression and depict a multilayered sphere.

 

The feelings provoked by the artwork lead the viewer to an unfamiliar and uncertain world. Here the viewer has to face his/her own perceptions and realise which share he/she brought into it and to what extent these perceptions are ready-made. Thus the viewer can sink into this sphere, where no artificial meaning, logic, or judgment is required. In this respect Ana Iakobashvili’s works create no prefabricated imagery, they rather open themselves to the viewer and invite him/her to reprocess his own perceptions in order to attribute individual meaning, narration and symbolism.

 

The evening will be musically accompanied by our special guest “TAMARA“, who belongs to the lively music scene of Tbilisi. Her compositions are marked by a phenomenal quest and offer unique complexity and variability. Her music shows avant-garde and experimental traits and cannot be assigned to a specific genre. The audience is led into a nebulous and whimsical world that is less threatening, but more contemplative and above all very personal. Her singing is just as extraordinary, alternating between free improvisation and well-thought-out structure.”, the description of the event reads.
