According to LEPL National Wine agency, in January-September 2018 Georgia exported about 60 million bottles of wines to 53 countries, up 13% compared to the same period of 2017. Total value of the exported wines made up 142 million USD and the year on year growth constituted 22%.
Georgian wine exports have increased on strategic wine markets: Japan – 68% (172 673 bottles), Poland – 32% (2465541) and Great Britain – 22% (67310); Europe and the USA: Romania – 390% 984 654), Czech Republic – 69% (31050), the Netherlands – 47% (60309), Germany – 22% (349216), Lithuania – 18% (3311620), Estonia – 16% (420 704), Canada -13% (119418), France – 11% (107126), Latvia – 9% (1245324) and so on. Traditional markets and Asian countries: Turkmenistan – 80% (120294), Kyrgyzstan – 54% (179610), Kazakhstan – 30% (2658224), Mongolia – 44% (162390),Ukraine – 27% (6746598), Belarus 13% (1188822), Russia – 11% (37064677) and so on.
Top five exporter countries: Russia (37064677), Ukraine (6746598), China (4821937), Kazakhstan (2658224) and Poland (2465541).
At the same time, Georgia exported 13.5 million bottles of brandy to 22 countries, up 19% year on year. Total value of the brandy exports made up 27.6 million USD, up 10% year on year.
In the reporting period, Georgia exported 287 000 bottles of Chacha, up 96% year on year. Total value of the exports made up 824 000 USD, up 88% year on year.
