Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia has been working on implementing the plan agreed by Minister Levan Davitashvili and Thai colleague. According to the plan, Georgia should launch wine exports to Thailand.
No specific decision have been taken yet, however, the parties continue active cooperation in this direction.
“The Ministry has started selecting companies and collecting information about who is interested to enter this market and start working on this market”, Andro Aslanishvili said.
Georgia has no problems with diversification of markets. Georgian wines are sold on 34 foreign markets, he said.
In January-April Georgia’s wine exports rose by 36%. The country exports 25 million bottles to 43 countries.
“We have no grounds for pessimism, We try to be optimists”, Andro Aslanishvili, deputy head of National Wine Agency told the Business Morning program.
