The Georgian National Tourism administration on Tuesday said it had launched a new campaign involving celebrities and influencers to promote the country as a visitor destination.

The Administration said “most impressive” locations of adventure tourism, cultural and historical heritage and local cuisine would be showcased by the selected personalities, adding the first stage had been hosted in the western region of Racha before its expansion to the rest of the country.

It added the Gemo Fest event aimed at boosting culinary tourism was ongoing after being hosted in the highland town of Mestia in the north and the city of Kutaisi in the west.

Entrepreneurial and wine markets and music shows were hosted as part of its programme, with locals presenting both traditional and rare dishes.

The GNTA said it had hosted tours in the north-western highland region of Svaneti, western regions of Imereti, Samegrelo and Guria, Black Sea region of Adjara, northeastern region of Tusheti and Kakheti in the east with the participation of photographers, journalists, chefs and tourist companies.

The tours are aiming to promote regions and their tourist products, increase domestic visitor flows and support local entrepreneurs.
