The Most Popular Georgian Wine Varieties

In January-September 2017 Georgia exported 52.7mln bottles of wines (in 0.75 L) to 45 countries, up 63% year on year. In the reporting period, the total exports value made up 116mln USD, up 55% year on year.

According to indicators of National Wine Agency, exports have increased in the following countries: China – 44% (5537261), Russia – 95% (33243157), Ukraine – 54%(5322683), Poland – 14% (1869852), Latvia – 36% (1141778), Belarus – 34% (1054994), the USA – 81% (346398), Germany – 28% (286156), Israel – 305% (170834), Mongolia – 182% (112710), France – 321% (96790), Azerbaijan – 102% (102 342) and so on.

Top five exports markets are: Russia (33243157), China (5537261), Ukraine (5322683), Kazakhstan (2044143) and Poland (1869852).

At the same time, Georgia exported 11 354 403 bottles of brandy (0.5 liters) to 22 countries, up 89% year on year. Total value of brandy exports made up 25mln USD, up 84% year on year.

In the reporting period, 147 000 bottles of Chacha were exported to 18 countries (0.5 liters). Exports growth constituted 131%. Revenues from Chacha exports totaled 439.3 thousand USD, up 83% year on year.

In the reporting period, consolidated revenues from exports of wines, brandy, chacha, wine materials and brandy spirits constituted 194mln USD. The year on year growth totaled 54%.
