Georgias Revenues from International Tourism Amounted to $177.8 Million in January-May
Georgia’s revenues from international tourism keep growing. Namely, the country raised USD 73.8 million from international tourism in May, up to USD 23.9 million compared to April and up 709.6% year on year.
At the same time, the January-May revenues constituted USD 177.8 million. As for the 2021 forecasts, the country expects to raise USD 1.2 billion throughout the year to reach approximately 37% of the 2019 indicators. The Minister of Economy has made more optimistic forecasts targeting 50% recovery compared to the pre-pandemic period to accumulate USD 1.6 billion in 2021. We expect the growing inflow of tourists to extremely boost our revenues, Economy Minister Natia Turnava said.
