We can safely say that Bakuriani is already ready to hold the skiing and snowboarding championships, - the vice-president of the skiing federation, Eka Gabashvili, said about this during a visit to "Women's Narrative".

In 2023 the World Ski and Snowboard Championship will be held in Bakuriani. This decision was made at the 51st Congress of the World Federation in 2018.

The stars of the skiing world will hold their first training at the resort on February 16. The finals will start on February 18.

"Georgia is hosting the Skiing and Snowboarding World Championship for the first time this year. Such successful countries as Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany and others fought for this position. The World Federation said that let's give a new resort from these 14 countries an opportunity to see what they will do. This is a big challenge. After this day, the life of each of us who are in this field has changed significantly. Today we can confidently say that Bakuriani is ready to host this championship. It will be a truly impressive sight, so I encourage everyone who comes to Bakuriani even for a day should not to miss this holiday", says Eka Gabashvili.

In recent years, in parallel with the preparations for the championship, the Federation has been actively preparing for the maintenance of the infrastructure of ski tracks. In addition to the employees of the Federation, volunteers are also involved in the work.

"Those people who grew up with this sport and dreamed of being in contact with such level competitions came forward as volunteers and work tirelessly, they don't shy away from physical labor either. It's really a wonder to watch these people", says Eka Gabashvili, vice president of the Ski Federation.

In parallel with the championship of the Ski Federation, a large flow of tourists is expected to enter Georgia. In addition, according to the vice-president of the federation, holding similar championships in Georgia not only contributes to the development of Bakuriani but also other resorts and serves to introduce a healthy lifestyle in the country.

For information, Georgia made an official application to host the 2023 Ski and Snowboard Freestyle World Championships in Bakuriani in April 2017. At the 51st Ski Congress of the International Ski Federation held in the Greek resort of Costa Navarino in May 2018, it was decided that the festival would be held in Georgia.
