Construction of 5-star hotel Telegraph will start in one year in the former building of Central Post Office and will be opened in 2023.
According to the director of real estate of Silk Road Group, Giorgi Marri, the project was announced years ago, however, until this moment, negotiations were underway to attract the investments. Apart from this, working processes were suspended due to COVID-19.
Silk Road Group attracted 15 million Euros from IFU Danish SDG Investment Fund. The total investment price of the project is approximately $50 million.
"At this moment, the projecting works are underway. The construction works will be completed in the fall of 2023.", defined Giorgi Marri.
The 220-room hotel will create 350 workplaces. The project envisages an arrangement of food facilities on the first floor and a terrace on the roof. As well as a rather large inner courtyard reconstruction to accommodate conference and banquet facilities. Reconstruction will be carried out by Green Architecture's LEED Gold Standard. It is also worth mentioning, that the building of Telegraph will be the first in the region of Caucasus which will be built according to this standard.
The building is located in the center of Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue.
