The Georgian National Tourism Administration Project to Mark Mountain-Pedestrian Trails

The Georgian National Tourism Administration continues to work on creating a network of mountain-pedestrian trails across the country. The project duration is 5 years and includes several stages.

Within the framework of the project, the national standard for marking the first mountain tracks was created in 2016.

At this stage, following sites are researched: Racha-Lechkhumi-lower Svaneti, Samegrelo-upper Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Guria, IMereti regions; Lower and Shida Kartli researches are in progress. Svaneti and Mountinian Samegrelo connecting trails are already marked.

Currently, Racha-Lechkumi and Lower-Svaneti trails are being marked. National Tourism Administration Head inspected ongoing works in Racha.

Overall, at the end of the year, up to 600km. trails network marking will be finished. 

Project will continue for 2-3 years and will cover all country.
