According to National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in January-June 2018 Georgia’s revenues from international tourism made up 1.4 billion USD, up 305million USD in the same period of 2017 (+26%).
Georgia’s revenues in 2017 made up 2.7billion USD. According to the current tendencies, the year of 2018 is expected to grow by at least 500 million USD and to total approximately 3.3 billion USD.
Along with growing revenues from tourism sector, Georgian citizens’ expenditures in foreign tourism sector has also increased. In January-June 2018 Georgian citizens spent 232 million USD in foreign countries, up 41 million USD as compared to the same period of 2017.
