Timetable of the tour

Day 1 – Arrival at the Tbilisi International Airport, where will meet you our company’s representative. Check in at the hotel and overnight.

Day 2 – Breakfast at the hotel – New and Old Shuamta – Ikalto Ancient Academy- Alaverdi Monastery – City-castle Gremi – Erekle II’s House- museum – Free evening and overnight in Telavi.

  • New Shuamta monastery was founded in XVI century . Inside fence of the church are: houses, sheds and other buildings.

  • Ikalto – Ikalto Monastery was founded by the Assyrian monk Zenon in VI century. According to the legend, Arseni Beri (XI-XII centuries) founded an academy. There are manuscripts those are ancient ages.In the territory of monastery is saved 3 church and different buildings, also the ruins of the academy and the refectory.

  • Alaverdi Monastery – “Alaverdi” is Turkish-Arabic origin word that means “God-given” . The current Alaverdi Monastery was built in XI century in the first quarter and was formed as the important monastery center . The temple is one of the largest church in Georgia (41,7×26,4, a height of 50 meters).

  • Gremi – city-castle is built the right side of the river. people settled in the late Bronze Age in this area, which was trading, economic and cultural center of Kakheti. In XVII century it was the most important place in Kakheti.

  • Telavi is one of the most beautiful city of Georgia, its architecture is amazing that’s why Telavi attracts a lot of visitors. From the city opening wonderful view of Alazani valley and Caucasus Mountains.

Day 3 – Breakfast at the hotel Tsinandali –  Al. Chavchavadze’s House-museum- vachnadziaani – Gurjaani Kvelatsminda – St. Nino’s Monatery;-free evening- overnight in Sighnaghi.

  • Chavchavadze’s House-museum– Tsinandali museumis located in the palace of the famous Georgian poet Alexander Chavchavadze. The house-museum keeps materials covering that epoch and the poet’s life and oeuvre. Here is decorative park; many exotic plants are cultivated in this park. The most special is the wine cellar, where are ideal conditions for special brand wines maturing Also there is one of the most famous wine cellar. A unique collection of Georgian and European wines is stored here. About 16 500 bottles of wine are stored here, which are poured out in different countries

  • Gurjaani Kvelatsminda – is the most important architecture monument of Georgia,dated -VIII-IX centuries .The church is the only two-domed church in Georgia. It is built with stone straight lines, angles and decorative parts – pumice hewn bricks and the nave of the church is in a difficult merger of Trinity grand basilica architectural elements.

  • Vachnadziani Kvelatsminda– the church is one of the important architecture example of Georgia .It was built in IX century and belongs to the most important and highly artistic monuments .

  • St Nino’s Bodbe Monastery – Monastery occupies a distinguished place in the spiritual life. Here lies Illuminator, Apostles St. Nino. St. Nino the source of grace and healing.Here was functioned church school from XVII century, where were taught theological and scientific subjects. There was also one of the richest library in Georgia.

  • Sighaghi is one of the most beautiful city of Georgia, its architecture is amazing that’s why Sighnaghi attracts a lot of visitors. Nowadays Sighnaghi is called as city-museum. From the city opening wonderful view of Alazani valley and Caucasus Mountains

Day 4 – Breakfast at the hotel- Davit gareji – Ninotsminda monastery – Martkopi  monastery-drive to Tbilisi and overnight in Tbilisi.

  • Davit Gareji is one of the most outstanding religious – cultural centers of feudal age Georgia. It is monastery complex carved in the cave. The semi-desert mountain monastery still admires viewers with its construction of arts and paintings of high artistic value. The monastery was founded in the VI century; it was founded by one of the 13 Assyrian Fathers – St. David Garejeli. In 1616 it was an Easter night king of Persian Shah Abbas tortured 6000 monks.

  • Ninotsminda Temple – was built in VI century. Here are preserved the monastery / temple and brick four-floor tower. Ninotsminda church is the first with its size. It is the best example of brick architecture (XVI-XVIII centuries). The monastery had a rich library, which tells us the manuscripts.

  • Martkopi Monastery – is situated on the most beautiful slope of Mount Ialno. was founded by father Anton of Martkopi in the 6th century. He spent the last 15 years of his life there. He lived as a hermit, what is implied by the “of Martkopi” designation in Georgian. From this designation came the name of the Georgian village Akriani, which initially was called Martodmkopeli and later Martkopi.

Day 5 – Breakfast at the hotel- Shavnabada monastery – Bolnisi Sioni – Tsughrughasheni Church- Dmanisi – return to Tbilisi and overnight.

  • Shavnabada – Shavnabada’s St. George’s old monastery overlooks Georgia’s few regions, from Savnabada’s mountain, which locates near Tbilisi,(30km.) It was founded in 1992 with the blessing the Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II.

  • Bolnisi’s Sioni- as well as the earlier feudal Georgian architecture, its interior is strict monumentality – the main attention is paid to the inner space of the artistic, the facade is still a minor. Monastery is dated of V century.

  • Tsughtsughasheni – is George’s cross-domed church of XIII century Georgian architecture. The dome neck is unique and does not exist another in Georgia. It is distinguished with facades;

  • Dmanisi – Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve was founded in 1983, since 2006 is the part of the National Museum. The museum represents the medieval town of Dmanisi and the geological layer dated 1.8 million years ago . Archeological diggings at the monument have been passing from 1983.

Day 6 – Breakfast at the hotel – Jvari monastery – Svetitskhoveli – Uplisstikhe – Stalini’s House-museum – Gori castle – Gorijvari – Overnight in Gori.

  • Jvari monastery it is a symbol of Mtsketa and a symbol of the whole country too.

    It stands high on a hill and overlooks the valley. From here you can see Mtsketa and the beautiful monuments around it. Also see how two rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi cross each other.

  • Svetitskhoveli is one of the most important historical buildings in Georgia. It was the center of Christianity for centuries. In the Cathedral is buried the robe of Christ and St Ellia’s mantle. The temple was built by the architect Arsakisdze in the XI centur

  • Uplisstikhe – There are only three protected caves in Georgia: Uplistsikhe,Vardzia and Davit gareji. From those the ancient is Uplistsikhe. In antic period there were about 700 caves, but nowadays stayed only 150.

  • The Joseph Stalin Museumis a museum in Gori, dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union who was born in Gori. The Museum retained until recent years its Soviet-era characteristics. The exhibits are divided into six halls in roughly chronological order, and contain many items actually or allegedly owned by Stalin, including some of his office furniture, his personal effects and gifts made to him over the years. There is also much illustration by way of documentation, photographs, paintings and newspaper articles.

  • Gori Fortress – is situated on a hill above the city of Gori in the Shida Kartli region of eastern Georgia. Located on the main highway connecting eastern and western parts of Georgia it was of strategic importance for many centuries and was attacked several times by invading armies. Gori fortress restored in 17th-century .The fortress was built with cobblestones. There are ruins of small churches in south-eastern section of the fortress.

  • Gorijvari mountain – here is located an ancient temple Gorijvari. Cathedral has the name of St. George.According to historian Vakhushti legend here is buried St. George’s head.

Day 7 – Breakfast at hotel – Ruisi Monastery – Urbnisi Monastery – Qsani monastery – Grakliani- return to Tbilisi and overnight.

  • Ruisi – Cathedral is a cross-dome shaped and belongs to VIII-IX centuries. On the facades are ornamented fragments of X-XI century. The complex surrounded by a fence, which dates back to the late feudal period. It is built with cobblestones.

  • Urbnisi – is the oldest settlements on the east side of the river. According to the history the old city was establishedin the Hellenic epoch. An area is about 3,500 square meters. Is dated first part of BC III.

  • Qsani Castle – it is a medieval fortress and locates on the left part of the river Ksani, Built in XVI century and had a strategic importance in the war. The five-floor fortress wall height is 16 meters.

  • Grakliani – is dated BC IV-I thousands years ago, It includes cult buildings, residential complex and tombs. Recently has been discovered temple dated BC VII century, which shows Georgian written language was in 2700 years ago.

Day 8 – Breakfast at the hotel – check out – free time – transfer to the airport. Departure from Tbilisi;
