Description

Georgian Association of Guides (SAGA) is non-profit, neutral, non-partisan organization established in February 2010. The main aim of SAGA is to promote the profession of a tour guide and increase the effectiveness of respective legislative and state politics to rise professionalism of tourist guides in Georgia; Forming publicly active and socially responsible tourist business in Georgia; Researching tourism related issues in order to identify current market needs significant for tourist guides.

SAGA represents national association of guides, a member of World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) since 2010 and associated member of Federation of European Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) since 2011. The association creates and develops educational programs for individuals interested in guide’s profession and those who already work in tourism industry.

The association spreads information about guides work’s main and actual aspects on national, regional and international levels. For development of guides’ skills the association regularly executes special programs, hosts annual regional forum on tourist guiding and conducts researches on key issues related to tourist guiding in Georgia or wider South Caucasus region. The association actively collaborates with national and foreign tourist organizations and foreign experts interested in this field.
