Georgian Viticulture Studies Open in Poland
24 October, 2016

Wine Academy of Poland will teach Georgian viticulture and winemaking history as part of memorandum that was signed by National Wine Agency of Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and  Galicja Vitis, Viticulture-Winemaking Development Foundation of Poland.

The memorandum calls for promoting popularization of Georgian wines in Poland through various marketing events and educational activities. Viticulture-Winemaking Development Foundation of Poland is cooperating with Wine Academy of Poland  (Podkarpacka Akademia Wina, www.akademiawina.org). Based on this academy, a wine school was unveiled in Yaslo in 2015 to teach Georgian viticulture and winemaking.

Giorgi Samanishvili, national wine agency director, hopes that the mentioned memorandum will more popularize Georgian wines in Poland and boost exports. Poland is one of the major exports markets for Georgia wines. The country is recorded among top five countries, where more than 1.6 million bottles were exported in January-September, up 47% year on year.
