Magnificent place in the heart of Svaneti
10 October, 2016

The hotel “Banguriani” in Mestia operates since June 1, 2015. However, they are under the direction of a new company and reorganized in March 2016.

This hotel is the biggest in the region of Svaneti. There are 36 comfortable rooms and 4 family rooms, which are intend for bothforeign and Georgian visitors.

Beautiful and clean yard, architectural style combined with the mountain landscape, the amazing views of Mestia from the hotel rooms, the grass is all over the complex and the mountain peaks are capped with snow, delicious food and the most important, quick and friendly staff which is always oriented on customers' satisfaction. All this together leaves unforgettable experience on guests.

The hotel has such guests as the government delegations, film industry representatives, foreign journalists, who visit to explore Georgia or for increasing international recognition.

The hotel has many plans, for example, building the family cottages and Finnish wooden steam baths. The helipad on the hotels’ area will be ready this year, for the winter season, which is very comfortable for heli-skiing lovers. Also, we target to participate in the several international tourism exhibitions at the end of 2016 and 2017's.

Furthermore, I am happy and proud toannounce that we nominated for international quality award at the International Quality Summit in New York.

Despite the effort and professionalism of management group, there are some external factors, which does not help the development of the regions and, especially, the hotels. In Mestia, lodgings depend on the season. We are waiting for the winter now and preparation for the season requires a lot of money. What happens if Tetnuldi ski track will not be open or the resort will not get the PR campaign both in Georgia and abroad? The roads are in a quite bad condition during the winter, therefore it requires special equipment, so that roads will always be cleared of snow. If the roads are not clean and safe, it is hard for tourists to get to the hotels and for the distributors in order to deliver food.It is also about flights, which are carried out 3 times a week and this only if the weather conditions are good, so we transport a maximum of 45 people. So we conclude that if there is not any support from government, all human and financial efforts of individual business will go down the drain. Besides, there are quite high taxes and we think if the private businesses in the mountainous regions will get some benefits, it would help us to develop the business.

As for “Welcome To Georgia”-s award ceremony. We want to thank all the founders of this project and all individual or legal person who is involved in this project.

It is the best way to evaluate the past year and it is kind of monitoring of what the private sector has accomplished this year. It is also the best way of motivation to prepare next year.

How would we rate 2016? Well, it is more successful than 2015 and we will try even harder for 2017.
