Passenger traffic at western Kutaisi airport up by 86% y/y in November

Western Georgia’s Kutaisi International Airport in November served 133,732 passengers in an 86 percent increase compared to the same month of 2022, the United Airports of Georgia said on Friday.

The number of flights at the Airport also increased by 56 percent year-on-year, with the facility serving 417 connection.

Between January-November, the Airport served 1,514,280 passengers and 4,504 flights. The airports body said the number of passengers had increased by 105 percent y/y while flights - by 55 percent. The body called the figures “record-high” and “historic”. 

Five airline companies operate flights to 35 destinations of 18 countries from the Airport.

The UAG also noted the Hungarian airline Wizz Air would again station its fourth jet at the facility and add Copenhagen as a destination starting on December 16.

It also said the Turkish Pegasus Airlines would operate flights from Kutaisi Airport to Istanbul three times a week starting on December 19.
