COVID-19 Causes Daily Losses in Hotel - Paradise Borjomi
17 December, 2020

As a general manager of Paradise Borjomi, Teimuraz Gelashvili mentions, the demand is very low and they do not have any guaranteed bookings for New Year.

"The situation in Georgia is so unstable that we do not know what to expect. The demand is very low and we do not have any guaranteed reservations for the New Year. After summer we were waiting for the winter season, yet the tough epidemiological situation caused us to get stuck. Closing the resorts may positively impact the number of guests visiting Borjomi, but we do not have bookings in advance.

Borjomi mainly depends on tourists. We have adjusted the prices, if the price of the room before the pandemic cost $90–110, now its price is $40.", noted Teimuraz Gelashvili with BusinessPartner.

The hotel Paradise Borjomi involves 24 rooms, bar, and restaurant.

The hotel managed to keep only 10 employees according to Teimuraz Gelashvili.

"Factually, we are closed, but our door is open, if someone will come, we will receive them. We try our best to overcome this period. However, if the situation will continue to be like this, we will preserve the hotel till spring and then we will close it.", declared the general manager of the hotel.
