Georgia Will be an Honorable Host in World’s Wine Capital Bordeaux

Exhibition Georgia – The Cradle of Wine will be opened on July 31 at the “Cité des Civilisations Du Vin” in Bordeaux,France.

Bordeaux is famous for its wine culture. Especially since the XVIII century, which is considered the “Golden Age” of the history of the city, and today it is called capital of winemaking and wine trade. The idea of ​​building a “Center for Wine Civilization” in Bordeaux belongs to the City Mayor, Alan Juppé. The total area of ​​the complex is 14,000 m2, and for temporary exhibitions 7 000 m2 is intended. The center has averagely 425,000 visitors during an year. Cité des Civilisations Du Vin offers visitors the history and contemporary of wine civilization.

As the organizers of the exhibition say, Georgia is the first invited country, which will open the cycle of viticulture and winemaking exhibitions at “Center of Wine Civilization” and will be the honorable host of the Wine Civilization Museum. They say that this is an opportunity for Georgia to present the world as an ancient country of wine civilization and the organic part of European culture to portray various aspects of its culture, history and economy. The exhibition will last for 4 months and will be closed in November.
