Number of Tourists Visiting Protected Areas Increased by 27%

According to data of 9 months of 2018, 974 827 visitors visited Georgia’s protected areas, which is 14% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. 52% of visitors are Georgian, while 48% are foreigners. It should be noted that the number is increased by 27%. The most visited visitors from international visitors are from:

• Germany
• Poland
• From Israel
• From Ukraine
• From Russia

The 9 most popular protected areas are:

• Prometheus Cave
• Martvili Canyon
• Kazbegi National Park
• Okatse canyon
• The National Park of Tbilisi

Specifically for the month of September: 153 783 visitor visits the protected areas, which is 23% increase compared to September 2017.
