International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) has accepted Georgia’s proposal to include Qarvisferi Ghvino (Amber-colored Wine), made by traditional Georgian methods, in the list of special wines.
OIV has positively accepted this proposal of Georgia party, Giorgi Samanishvili, head of National Wine Agency, said.
“This decision is one more important success for popularizing Georgian traditional wines worldwide”, Samanishvili noted.
At this stage the special list of OIV includes only 7 wine varieties. After completion of due procedures, Georgian Qarvisferi Ghvino will be the 8th one in the OIV list.
