International Festivals

Ajara region has become an important cultural center of the country hosting numerous events throughout the whole year. Recently, Concerts of worldwide famous stars such as Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Chris Botti, Sting, Michel Legrand, Enrique Iglesias and so on, have been conducted here. Batumi also hosts various international festivals. Lovers of jazz annually gather at the “Black Sea Jazz Festival” in Batumi and enjoy the opportunity to listen to the world famous stars.  While those who prefer classical music can attend various types of concerts with symphonic orchestra. Traditionally, every year in September, an International Art-House Film Festival “BIAFF” is held in Batumi representing famous film directors from different countries of the world. Moreover, an International Festival of Animated Films “Tofuzi” is conducted in September-October.
