Climatic and spa resort of Kobuleti is an important tourist center on the Adjara Black Sea coastline. Antique times articles uncovered by archeologists in the coast strip of Kobuleti, in pine-tree grove, prove that in II-I millennia BC here, on this territory existed an important urban center that had close ties with other settlements on the Black Sea coast. Between beach and populated part of the town there is several-meter wide seaside strip with dense pine-tree groves. These groves create special microclimate that is considered to be a genuine therapeutic means against cardiovascular system and pulmonary diseases. Nowadays Kobuleti has good arrangement of resort infrastructure. In recent years numerous new rest-houses and family hotels were built here. Resorts host about 100 000 tourists in one season. The longest, 12 km-strong, fine stone beach line, lavish sun beams and sea water, pine groves and humid subtropical climate create wonderful conditions for making holidays and improving health. There is also a spring of chloride-sodium mineral water on the territory of the town whose curing properties were actively used in Soviet period. There are three preserved territories near the resort: Kobuleti (founded in 1999, area 770 ha), Kintrishi (founded in 1959, area 13 893 ha) Preserved Territory and Mtirala National Park (founded

in 2006, area 15 806 ha). The whole landscape of preserved territories comprises several hypsometric levels that account for its natural diversity. There are excellent places for rafting, ethnological, ecological and birdwatching tours.

2. Waterfall in Tsablnara. Mtirala National Park. Mount Mtirala in the Park stands out for precipitation parameter. Its altitude from sea level is 1381 m and it is the most humid place in Georgia with the highest level of precipitation (average annual precipitation 4520 mm). That is wherefrom derives its moniker – ‘Mtirala’ (‘Wailing’ in Georgian).
