Timetable of the tour

Day 1 – Arrival at the Kutaisi International Airport, where will meet you our company’s representative. Check in at the hotel and overnight.

Day 2 – Breakfast at the hotel. – Gelati monastery – Bagrati – Motsameta – Kutaisi historical museum- surveying the European part of the city- free time – overnight in Kutaisi.

  • Gelati Monastery is Georgian architectural monument, which was founded in 1106 under the leadership of Davit Aghmashenebeli. According to his will the king Davit Aghmashenebeli is buried in this church. In the same temple is saved Fresco of Davit Aghmashenebeli . Gelati Monastery is in the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

  • Bagrati Cathedral– was built in X-XI centuries, in a reign of Bagrati III. Historically it is a symbol of united Georgia. After 1994 Bagrati Cathedral is in the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

  • Motsameta – the temple was built in the XI century, in the valley of river Tskaltsitela. Here are buried brothers Davit and Constantine Mkheidze, who are canonized as saints.

  • Historical museum – Niko Berdzenishvili Kutaisi State Historical Museum was founded in 1922, which keeps about 190998 exhibits. The museum protects the unique cultural heritage of BC IX-VII centuries from the late medieval period. Between them are archaeological discoveries,Bronze and ancient period monuments.

Day 3 – Breakfast at the hotel – Sataplia-Martvili Monastery – summer residence of Dadians- Overnight in Zugdidi.

  • Sataplia – There was a small river, which originates from the cave far from 200 meters, 30 million years ago the river outlined the cave. At the right and left are stalactites and stalagmites forests. Scientists discovered the area where was dinosaur footprints, which is a unique phenomenon in the world of nature.

  • Martvili Monastery– it is named of St Maria, which was built in VII centuries and is the remarkable example of Georgian architecture. There are also Frescoes dated of XIV, XVI and XVII centuries in the temple.

  • Dadiani Summer Residence – Dadianis summer residence was built of the chief of Samegrelo, named Levan Dadiani .There are a lot of European architectural details. The palace hosted many European grandees.

Day 4 – Breakfast at the hotel – Tsaishi cathedral – house-museum of Dadianebi- Zugdidi’s botanical garden – Zugdidi Kviratskhoveli Temple – Zugdidi Cathedral – inform to Megruli cuisine and traditions,then dinner. Overnight in Zugdidi .

  • Tsaishi Cathedral– Tsaishi Cathedral was the Episcopal Cathedral. It is unknown its construction date. The information about the existence comes from XIV century. There was the crypt Dadian’s family. Tsaishi necropolis is the interesting historical monuments, but many graves are lost, because the inscriptions on the graves aren’t available to read.

  • Dadiani Palace – is one of the treasure of Georgia. Aforetime was served Dadiani representatives.They were educated Today, Dadiani Palace presents the Ethnographic Museum, which offers visitors the unique and invaluable cultural and historical monuments. The museum’s collection includes a total of 41000 works, between them is ancient vlakerni miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary.

  • Zugdidi Vlakerni Temple– was founded in XIX century. Temple building is connected with Vlakerni miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, which was the main sacredness of Dadiani. That’s why the icon was very respectful.

  • Zugdidi Botanical Garden– was built in last century near the Dadiani Palace, as the decorative garden of residence. Some of the trees in the garden are over 200 years old and are the unique in the whole continent of Eurasia.

  • Zugdidi Kviratskhoveli Temple– firstly it was mentioned in XIV century. It is the symbol of the town. There is no information about who the temple built.

Day 5 – Breakfast at the hotel- Tsalenjikha Temple- Historical-Ethnographical museum of Tsalenjikha- Enguri Valley – Engurhesi Hydrotechnical Building – Khaishi – Mestia – Overnight in Mestia.

  • Tsalenjikha Temple– was built in X-XI centuries. The interior of temple is painted f by the artist who was specially invited from Constantinople. This painting is the unique and exactly dated example of XIV century.

  • Historical-Ethnographical museum of Tsalenjikha – the museum was established in 2003, where are stored about 321 exhibit. In the museum are protected archaeological material and their chronological frames include Paleolithic, Neolithic, early, middle and late Bronze Age periods.

  • Engurhesi Hydrotechnical Building – the outstanding technical and engineering structures complex, arched dam has been awarded to the status of a national cultural monument. It is built between the mountains and makes a big impression on the visitors.

  • Khaishi– the village Khaishi is the most beautiful place in Svaneti. Here are characteristic of Svaneti towers, churches, monasteries and beautiful nature, which take delight to visitors.

Day 6 – Breakfast at the hotel. Latali Church – Svaneti Museum – Hatsvali – Khergiani Museum –introducing “Svanuri” cuisine and traditions, overnight in Mestia.

  • Latali Church– was built in X-XI centuries. The church is painted and gives the information about coronation of Demetre I; he was the son of Davit Aghmashenebeli. There are protected many valuable things. Between them is silver cross-dated of XI century and which is considered one of the most important examples of Byzantine goldsmith.

  • Svaneti Museum– was established in 1936. There is protected about 4090 exhibits, which are collected from archeological dig. Also you can see Georgian work of arts, ancient manuscripts and the unique examples of icon paintings.

  • Khergianebi Museum – the museum was established in 1983, which collection includes about 458 exhibits. There is presented the private things and historical facts of famous alpinist, named Mikheil Khergiani.

Day 7 – Breakfast at hotel – surveying in historical part of Kutaisi – overnight in Kutaisi.

  • Okatse Canyon- locates in the valley of river Okatse. The river lenght is 14 kilometers. Canyon is decorated with waterfalls. Several natural stone bridges are over the river. Canyon has caves, from which flowing karst waters. It’s great feeling walking on the bridge.

Day 8 – Breakfast at the hotel – Check out – Free time – transfer to the airport. Departure from Kutaisi;
