Hotel Courtyard Marriot will be opened in Batumi in April 2019
01 March, 2018

In 2018, the Alliance Group began preparatory works on its new exclusive project in Batumi – Alliance Privilege. The complex will be located in the Batumi Boulevard, on the seaside. It will feature ultra-modern architecture, and will include the five-star Marriott Hotel, as well as exclusive apartments.

Alliance Privilege is the company’s fourth large-scale project in partnership with the world’s leading hotel brand Marriott International.

Construction of the exclusive project is due to be completed in 2020, while the 160-room Marriott Hotel is due to begin operating in 2021. As with the company’s other projects, management and rental activities at Alliance Privilege will be entrusted to an international company. The new project will be managed by the US-based McInerney Hospitality International.

The Alliance Group’s latest project is worth $80 million, and will include all types of infrastructure that are characteristic of an ultra-modern complex: underground and street-level parking, a swimming pool with sea water, a spa, a fitness centre, cafes, restaurants, the largest casino in the region, etc. Ecologically clean and energy-efficient materials will be used for construction.

The franchise agreement between Marriott International and the Alliance Group was signed by representatives of the two companies in Zurich on 8 February 2018. Alliance Privilege in Batumi was chosen to house the Marriott brand’s 8thproperty in Georgia. It will be Marriott International’s second hotel in Batumi after the Alliance Palace, where the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is due to begin operating in 2019.

The Marriott International brand operates more than 6000 hotels in over 120 countries across the world, and has been cooperating with the Alliance Group since 2015. Georgia has been a successful market for Marriott in terms of brand development, as evidenced by its various projects across the country.

Our first joint project, which involves the opening of a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel inside the Alliance Palace multifunctional complex in Batumi, has been very successful,” states the Director General of the Alliance Group, Akaki Songulia, adding that 95% of the apartments in the Alliance Palace have already been sold. Construction of the Alliance Palace in Batumi will be completed in 2018, while the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel inside the multifunctional complex is due to open in April 2019.

"We are not simply constructing buildings. We are building a business. This is our company’s business, as much as it is the business of our individual investors – the apartment owners, who are renting out their properties with the aid of our international management company. It is also a tourist business, as we create premium-class places for visitors to stay. Tourists arrive here in ever-growing numbers and are spending money in Georgia, so it is also a business for our country,” Mr. Songulia explains.

The Alliance Group is currently working on four construction projects involving the world’s largest hotel networks: the Alliance Palace in Batumi, which will house the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel; Alliance Privilege in Batumi, which will include the Marriott Hotel; the Alliance Resort in Goderdzi, which will house the Ramada Hotel; and Alliance Highline in Tbilisi, which will include the Wyndham Garden Hotel.

Over the last 13 years, the Alliance Group has already invested $200 million in premium-class construction projects. The company is investing a further $210 million into the four ongoing innovative projects.
